Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zenon Czaplicki got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Elodio came free, but Tomas Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Matias Elodio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Roque James had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Matias Elodio notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Independiente's Tomas Azevedo. Tomas Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Orvar Palm hit a great ball. Tomas Azevedo came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Vierna Club's Teofilo Lon. But to his dismay, Teofilo Lon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 30 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Zenon Czaplicki came free, but Tomas Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Independiente defense, Matias Elodio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Azevedo. The Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Azevedo should have stopped the shot. Vierna Club's Adrian Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roque James in the 36th minute of play. Independiente's Dino do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaias Benvido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eustaquio Jerrald's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Jerrald helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Vierna Club getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Eustaquio Jerrald hit a great ball. Sezgin Gençyaz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roque James was the one to do the kick off. Vierna Club's Adrian Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Benvido in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 minutes Vierna Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Astor Caitano who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Independiente's Astor Caitano to fire away a dangerous shot which Adrian Ruy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 58th minute, Sezgin Gençyaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 61 minutes, Dino do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The throw-in from Dino do Vale in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Vierna Club's Eustaquio Jerrald. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roque James in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian Ruy saved Vierna Club from getting behind. Adrian Ruy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Benvido, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Roque James cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Adrian Ruy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Matias Elodio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomas Azevedo. That made the score 1-5 in the 84 minute of play. Adrian Ruy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Benvido, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Tomas Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Elodio in the 95th minute of the match. Vierna Club played a much better game than Independiente and deserved their victory. The Independiente players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
