But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateo Eudoxio couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cojango's zone, Arturo Laurentzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atilano Martino came out of the goal and Arturo Laurentzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cojango's Atilano Martino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Eudoxio in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Roque Blai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The wind increased when Tobias Tajo made the kick off in the second half. If Mateo Eudoxio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Baby Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Sal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atilano Martino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Cojango fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Baby Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
