Albano Hermelando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Damiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. A collision led to Heavy getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Niceto Cibran hit a great ball. When Cipriano Barto came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Cuchilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Barto couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, Cleto Odilon made a precise shot to the right of Cássio Lima. Heavy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 22 minutes into the game, Eugenio Eusko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuchilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heavy the free kick. Eugenio Eusko hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Albano Hermelando didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Norberto Ricart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albano Hermelando having to interfere. Norberto Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleto Odilon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot by Sven-Arne Lundin from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Albano Hermelando's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cuchilla were furious when Orlando Luar was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The wind increased when Emilio Damiani made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Heavy's goalkeeper Cássio Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cipriano Barto. In the 61st minute Norberto Ricart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albano Hermelando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70 played minutes Heavy got a freekick which was hit by Maximo Ofelio. Cássio Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Maore in the 71st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Barto got free with Cássio Lima in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cássio Lima didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cipriano Barto went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. In the 79th minute, Victor Garaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cuchilla's goalkeeper Albano Hermelando, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute of the match, Cipriano Barto got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cássio Lima was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Albano Hermelando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Damiani went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-5 was the resulting score. After 94 played minutes Heavy got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Rafel. After a rather tough play, Cuchilla's Cipriano Barto got a free kick in the 97th minute. After 98 played minutes, Heavy's Ovidio Rafel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albano Hermelando came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heavy reached it.
