Placido Beltxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Teofilo Joachim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Dennehy AFC got a freekick which was hit by Placido Beltxe. Fulgencio Eliu hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Jeronimo Gonza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Garoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeronimo Gonza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonatan Alfonso in the 33rd minute of play. Teofilo Joachim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Beltxe in the 35th minute of play. Deportivo Merlo's Teofilo Joachim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Merlo from getting a goal against them. Jeronimo Gonza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonatan Alfonso in the 39th minute of play. Teofilo Joachim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Paulin in the 46th minute of play. Dennehy AFC's Jeronimo Gonza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Quinton in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Placido Beltxe made a kick off. If Bartolo Abaunza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Clodoveo Paulin took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teofilo Joachim. Teofilo Joachim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A collision led to Dennehy AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Baltasar Kinsen hit a great ball. The supporters of Deportivo Merlo booed when Dennehy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Kinsen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
