An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Ilazki in the 22nd minute of play forced Grasshopper FC's goalkeeper Juan Dolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Dolfo made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Hernan Egun sent off a good shot on target. Carrenleufú AFC's Modesto Brion quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Celedonio Ilazki charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celedonio Ilazki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carrenleufú AFC's Celedonio Ilazki got a free kick in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celedonio Ilazki to make the kick off. After 56 minutes of play, Carrenleufú AFC's Celedonio Ilazki made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
