Giovanni Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Octavio Umea made a huge save. The supporters of Oriente booed when River Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Grabiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Ovidio Jokin kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Cristo Paez came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Oriente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Paez couldn't finish the play. Octavio Umea was a little too slow when Gualterio Ostadar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. After some careless play in the River Santa Fe defense, Rolando Estebe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Seppe Schol. The River Santa Fe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Seppe Schol should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, River Santa Fe's Octavio Umea threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Natalio Grabiel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 32 minutes into the match, Giovanni Vieira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Octavio Umea, 2-1. With his leg Octavio Umea managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when River Santa Fe's Ovidio Jokin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 37 played minutes, Oriente's Marcos Orlondo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Seppe Schol came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oriente reached it. In the 37th minute, August Brandin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Oriente's Nestor Chabier got a free kick in the 40th minute. Octavio Umea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Grabiel in the 41st minute of the match. Octavio Umea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Grabiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Octavio Umea made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Ovidio Jokin sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rolando Estebe made a kick off. The River Santa Fe fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when River Santa Fe's Natalio Grabiel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Oriente getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Anibal Romero hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Oriente's Marcos Orlondo got a free kick in the 61st minute. After a long run with the ball, Delmar Blasi did a trick in the 76th minute in front of Oriente's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 6-1. Octavio Umea came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by River Santa Fe's Giovanni Vieira. But to his dismay, Giovanni Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Cristo Paez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Seppe Schol came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristo Paez slotted it home off the left post making it 7-2 in the 93rd minute. River Santa Fe walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
