Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Braulio Fonso got the match started through his kick off. Plátanos FC's Gerardo Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobaldo Ponciano in the 3rd minute of play. After 5 minutes of play, Plátanos FC's Remigio Itzaina made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodrigo Jorrin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodrigo Jorrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Itzaina in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Braulio Fonso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rodrigo Jorrin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Teobaldo Ponciano struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Gerardo Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Humboldt AFC. 21 minutes into the match, Plátanos FC's goalkeeper Gerardo Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Natalio Kauldi. Remigio Itzaina hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Remigio Itzaina took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Jorrin. Rodrigo Jorrin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 42nd minute, Horacio Oalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the game, Remigio Itzaina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Plátanos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Humboldt AFC the free kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camilo Distiratsu made a kick off. Camilo Distiratsu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerardo Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Natalio Kauldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Gerardo Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teobaldo Ponciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Lopes having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Horacio Oalo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Humboldt AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Plátanos FC the free kick. Horacio Oalo kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Rodrigo Jorrin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Fonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Jorrin was a little too slow when Alberto Faro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 73rd minute, Alberto Faro made a precise shot to the right of Rodrigo Jorrin. Humboldt AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Tomas Cebo made in the 77th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Desiderio Laurendi immediately put the ball in play. Camilo Distiratsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Lopes having to interfere. Gerardo Lopes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Camilo Distiratsu went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. Teobaldo Ponciano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerardo Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Humboldt AFC! The referee gave Plátanos FC a penalty, 93 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Julio Ubendu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Humboldt AFC's Rodrigo Jorrin. 2-6. The Plátanos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Plátanos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
