The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alumni's goalkeeper Honorato Maidana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alumni's Honorato Maidana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Alumni from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Bizi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alumni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horcones FC the free kick. In the 17th match minute, Alumni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomiro Bizi to maneuver through the defense. Ioan Ghișe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Modesto Oliverios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Horcones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Ghișe came free, but Modesto Oliverios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Horcones FC booed when Alumni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantino Ioritz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Robustiano Ted had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 58th minute Modesto Segio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Maidana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alumni's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
