With a little luck, Florentina FC's Placido Salomon got control of the ball when Isidoro Ferman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Placido Salomon made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Aaron Tuste sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sheffield United FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Nicanor Savier hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Heli in the 30th minute of play forced Sheffield United FC's goalkeeper Marcial Luzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Luzea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Cordaro in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Simon Tholsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Florentina FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After having played for 39 minutes, Simon Tholsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florentina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Tholsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sheffield United FC's Marcial Luzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Tholsson in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Danilo Heli in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Luzea saved Sheffield United FC from getting behind. The supporters of Florentina FC booed when Sheffield United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Salvidor didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Lixandro made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Lixandro in the 53rd minute of play forced Florentina FC's goalkeeper Placido Salomon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruperto Normando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Marcial Luzea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcial Luzea came out of the goal and Danilo Heli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcial Luzea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Estebe in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute of the match, Ruperto Normando tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcial Luzea saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcial Luzea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Simon Tholsson in the 86th minute. Nicolas Regis hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Leonel Lixandro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes of play, Sheffield United FC's Aaron Tuste made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Placido Salomon was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th match minute, Sheffield United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. If Andres Iztal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
