The referee ignored Quilmes AC's protests and gave Carmelo Burni a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Deportivo Cavernas got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Norino. Segundo James sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute of the match Ognyan Búchvarov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Volio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Deportivo Cavernas were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Quilmes AC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ognyan Búchvarov took the corner. In the 23rd minute, Honorato Eriz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Raimundo Jerold sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Volio skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Anastasio Locaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Volio was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Honorato Eriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Volio having to interfere. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Quilmes AC's Cristo Erroman got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anastasio Locaio in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Volio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Honorato Eriz got free with Benito Volio in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anastasio Locaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Volio having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Segundo James managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Cavernas's supporters rose to their feet, but Segundo James was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Volio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Anastasio Locaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donato Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Iyan, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Cavernas's Tomás Garcia got a free kick in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded Deportivo Cavernas left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quilmes AC.
