After having played for 34 minutes, Wiliam Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanguardia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Vanguardia booed when Quemeros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Jayvier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Vanguardia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiliam Lira to strike the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Albino Cesario in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Vanguardia's Jano de Sena. 58 minutes into the match, Vanguardia's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Mede came free, but Damaso Aznaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wiliam Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Belasko having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Vanguardia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quemeros.
