The Tacanas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Felix Rito kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Piquete's Ildefonso Isias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Ciano in the 27th minute of play. Donato Mendiko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Hitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Duardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piquete's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tacanas the free kick. Eliseo Pereyra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ildefonso Isias made a huge save. If Teofilo Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Arnulfo Ciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Isias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Rito charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Rito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Piquete got a freekick which was hit by Felix Rito. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teofilo Osorio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Piquete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Hitz to maneuver through the defense. Arnulfo Ciano might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ildefonso Isias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnulfo Ciano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th minute, Everardo Salamon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ildefonso Isias was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 65 minutes into the match, Tacanas's goalkeeper Donato Mendiko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilfredo Duardo. In the 65th minute, Piquete's Wilfredo Duardo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Donato Mendiko. Donato Mendiko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Victor Frasquito hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Donato Mendiko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddy Hitz's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Ciano in the 76th minute of play forced Piquete's goalkeeper Ildefonso Isias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Piquete's Freddy Hitz fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Jorge Salbatore's late challenge caught a Piquete's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Salbatore helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tacanas's Jorge Salbatore got a free kick in the 86th minute. When Piquete's Teofilo Osorio in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tacanas's goalie prevented a goal. If Wilfredo Duardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Tacanas had won after a very even match.
