Concepcion F.C.'s Feliciano Basajaun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Caetano in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Concepcion F.C.'s zone, Tiburcio Ferdinand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliciano Basajaun came out of the goal and Tiburcio Ferdinand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edelmiro Arnas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Cristobal Lagunas made a huge save. After 16 minutes, Luciano Endura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gibsons and the Concepcion F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gibsons's Luciano Endura got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a little luck, Gibsons's Cristobal Lagunas got control of the ball when Patricio Inge tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ramiro Caetano came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Gibsons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Caetano couldn't finish the play. After having played for 23 minutes, Tiburcio Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gibsons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiburcio Ferdinand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Gibsons booed when Concepcion F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Inge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gibsons's Ramiro Caetano got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute Tiburcio Ferdinand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tiburcio Ferdinand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Ramiro Caetano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Tiburcio Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gibsons's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiburcio Ferdinand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Feliciano Basajaun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gibsons's Tiburcio Ferdinand got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramiro Caetano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 0-4 became the score in the 89th minute when Tiburcio Ferdinand elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Tiburcio Ferdinand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Feliciano Basajaun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gibsons's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
