Eliseo Frutos came out of the goal and Severino Madeo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Braulio Rosio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athletic Bautista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Rosio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Braulio Rosio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Athletic Bautista players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Zanjón AFC were winning 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Lixandro in the 52nd minute of play forced Athletic Bautista's goalkeeper Adolfo Dominix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Athletic Bautista's goalkeeper Adolfo Dominix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silverio Nesor. Braulio Rosio took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseo Frutos. Eliseo Frutos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Athletic Bautista players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
