The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. AZUL FC's Angelino Hanni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Madeo in the 3rd minute of play. Braulio Rosio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th minute, Silverio Txatxu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolfo Dominix was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Angelino Hanni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Braulio Rosio's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Adolfo Dominix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Corderro, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Braulio Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Silverio Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Dominix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Raymon got free with Adolfo Dominix in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adolfo Dominix made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Adrian Raymon sent off a good shot on target. 33 minutes into the match, Athletic Bautista's Braulio Rosio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelino Hanni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute Braulio Rosio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelino Hanni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Braulio Rosio succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Rojelio to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Athletic Bautista got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Belarmo. Adolfo Dominix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Rojelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Braulio Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Severino Madeo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athletic Bautista's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Madeo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Hanni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Braulio Rosio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute Jaime Rojelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Dominix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Raymon in the 69th minute of play forced Athletic Bautista's goalkeeper Adolfo Dominix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Braulio Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Madeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Madeo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AZUL FC booed when Athletic Bautista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Madeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Braulio Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelino Hanni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Madeo's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. When Braulio Rosio came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Athletic Bautista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braulio Rosio couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the game, Severino Madeo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Angelino Hanni. Severino Madeo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Athletic Bautista played a much better game than AZUL FC and deserved their victory. The AZUL FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
