In the 6th minute, Vernon Winterburn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fuerte Fortín fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Goritex getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Vinicio Orti hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Goritex's goal looked a bit too open when Vernon Winterburn came free, but Domingos Silban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Baldomero Inguma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Silban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Silban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vernon Winterburn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Fuerte Fortín's Hans Ahlbom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Fuerte Fortín from getting a goal against them. Hans Ahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Bernat in the 24th minute of play. Domingos Silban didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eugenio Pedroso went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Goritex's Domingos Silban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Sindo in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 minutes, Vernon Winterburn made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Goritex's Domingos Silban tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Domingos Silban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Inguma, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute Gavino Bernat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Ahlbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Baldomero Inguma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Domingos Silban was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vernon Winterburn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Domingos Silban read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Victoriano Maurino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goritex's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fuerte Fortín the free kick. Victoriano Maurino kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Gavino Bernat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Ahlbom having to interfere. After some careless play in the Goritex defense, Baldomero Inguma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Domingos Silban. The Goritex fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Domingos Silban should have stopped the shot. Gavino Bernat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Hans Ahlbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Goritex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavino Lluis to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Silban made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Inguma in the 77th minute of play. Ricardo Sotil kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Fuerte Fortín's Baldomero Inguma nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Domingos Silban made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victoriano Maurino in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans Ahlbom saved Fuerte Fortín from getting behind. When the match was over Fuerte Fortín could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Goritex throughout the match.
