Isaac Hodei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saverio Chus having to interfere. Salvador Sayveon kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Aquilino Chorache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saverio Chus having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Tadzio during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ezequiel Henrico shot a long shot in the 44th minute and a light blocked Saverio Chus hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-1. If Aquilino Chorache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The audience was convinced that Jeronimo Etxepare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Omar Ponciano was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Ezequiel Henrico hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jeronimo Etxepare managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marcelo Lizer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Omar Ponciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fortuna's Omar Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Lizer in the 98th minute of play. The Fortuna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fortuna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
