In the 4thth minute of the game Elpidio Rubio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrella Roja de Belgrado's Marciano Mino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Baldomiro Mirande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marciano Mino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Bero in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute Fabio Bero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marciano Mino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marciano Mino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Rubio, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Celso Gonchan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clodoveo Alonso in the 30th minute. Marciano Mino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Bero in the 32nd minute of the match. Marciano Mino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Rubio in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Wilfredo Pabla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Juan Sebastian Veron fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When Wilfredo Pabla came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Juan Sebastian Veron fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilfredo Pabla couldn't finish the play. When Juan Sebastian Veron's Elpidio Rubio in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Estrella Roja de Belgrado's goalie prevented a goal. In the 45th minute Juan Sebastian Veron were awarded a corner. Dante Quintin went to the cornerflag to take it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elpidio Rubio was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Juan Sebastian Veron's Fabio Bero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marciano Mino. That made the score 0-3 after 53 minutes of play. Elpidio Rubio took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marciano Mino. Marciano Mino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Elpidio Rubio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Fabio Bero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gogo Policarpio hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Estrella Roja de Belgrado's Raul Eliu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Raul Eliu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Estrella Roja de Belgrado protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Raul Eliu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Estrella Roja de Belgrado:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Juan Sebastian Veron:s goal. Wilfredo Pabla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marciano Mino came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilfredo Pabla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Estrella Roja de Belgrado getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Joel Raulo hit a great ball. Elpidio Rubios short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Marciano Mino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bonifacio Artaldo's late challenge caught a Juan Sebastian Veron's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bonifacio Artaldo helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Rubio in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marciano Mino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 82 minutes of play, Juan Sebastian Veron's Elpidio Rubio made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marciano Mino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marciano Mino came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Juan Sebastian Veron's Elpidio Rubio. But to his dismay, Elpidio Rubio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Elpidio Rubio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Marciano Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elpidio Rubio in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marciano Mino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 97 minutes into the match, Juan Sebastian Veron's Elpidio Rubio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marciano Mino narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
