But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Aimar couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maximo Aimar was the one to do the kick off. Carlos Gutierrez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Aimar in the 84th minute of play. With 86 minutes on the clock, Cesar Leobardo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Carlos Gutierrez had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Augusto Ponciano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Orlanda during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rastrojos getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ramon Orlanda hit a great ball. Erasmo Urti hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Rastrojos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
