After 44 played minutes, Ullún's Artemio Qwinton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Javier Adrio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ullún reached it. In the 47th match minute, Ullún was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Abar to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ullún's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalmacio Argina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Galatasaray's Javier Adrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmacio Argina in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Dalmacio Argina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Adrio came out of the goal and Dalmacio Argina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Feliberto Heli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
