Cosme Paskal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Placido Frutos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregorio Gorbea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Placido Frutos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cosme Paskal struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Placido Frutos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barreal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Erramun in the 18th minute of play forced Barreal's goalkeeper Leonides Hori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Severino Arotza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Hori was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Placido Frutos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Paskal, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cosme Paskal in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Placido Frutos saved MATAMBRE from getting behind. 41 minutes into the game, Isaias Adrio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MATAMBRE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barreal the free kick. After 41 played minutes MATAMBRE got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Adrio.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregorio Gorbea made a kick off. After 51 played minutes MATAMBRE got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Erramun. After 53 minutes, Serafino Tabb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MATAMBRE and the Barreal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, MATAMBRE's Serafino Tabb got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Isaias Adrio was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 58 minutes into the match, Gregorio Gorbea notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of MATAMBRE's Placido Frutos. Placido Frutos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of MATAMBRE booed when Barreal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Adrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barreal's goalkeeper Leonides Hori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The tension between the Barreal and the MATAMBRE players grew even worse after the yellow card. 83 minutes into the game, Cosme Paskal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Placido Frutos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute Virgilio Bernard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Frutos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Hipolito Santxol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Severino Arotza managed to get in a good position for a shot. MATAMBRE's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Arotza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonides Hori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barreal had played much better football throughout.
