MATAMBRE were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Barreal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bernabe Lehen took the corner. The corner led MATAMBRE's Eleuterio Aguirre to fire away a dangerous shot which Leonides Hori despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of MATAMBRE booed when Barreal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Xabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosme Paskal struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Placido Frutos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barreal. Bernabe Lehen's late challenge caught a Barreal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernabe Lehen helped the player get up and apologised. 20 minutes into the game, one of MATAMBRE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 26th minute, Gregorio Gorbea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonides Hori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafino Tabb in the 29th minute of the match. Placido Frutos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Paskal in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Barreal getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Roman Xabier hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Cosme Paskal made a precise shot to the right of Placido Frutos. MATAMBRE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victorino Erramun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Bernabe Lehen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Hori showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Placido Frutos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Bernard, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Virgilio Bernard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgard Pirani hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Placido Frutos was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Cosme Paskal capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cosme Paskal really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. If Virgilio Bernard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, MATAMBRE's Eleuterio Aguirre got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 86th minute, Amador Adrio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute Severino Arotza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Hori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosme Paskal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Placido Frutos having to make a save.
