After a rather tough play, Lugano FC's Mauricio Rey got a free kick in the 9th minute. Fabricio Danel's late challenge caught a Melincué's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Danel helped the player get up and apologised. Aristides Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Petri having to interfere. Lugano FC's Jesus Petri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristides Astrada in the 42nd minute of play. Melincué's Omar Iturri got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aristides Astrada in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jesus Petri prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Astrada to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Aristides Astrada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Petri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Arce hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Lugano FC's Jesus Petri got control of the ball when Omar Iturri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jesus Petri came out and tried to block the shot, but Aristides Astrada slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 72nd minute. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 83 minutes into the match, Lugano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Astrada came free, but Jesus Petri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Iturri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jesus Petri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Astrada in the 87th minute of the match.
