Gamba Osaka F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teodoro Pio ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Teodoro Pio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arne Samuelsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Requelme AFC booed when Gamba Osaka F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Laffitte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Samuelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Meng Zhan Xiang in the 24th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Americo Hitz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arne Samuelsson. That made the score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. If Joaquin Firmin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arne Samuelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Meng Zhan Xiang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Ourente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Firmin in the 37th minute of the match. Americo Hitz hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Gamba Osaka F.C.'s Luis Lia got a free kick in the 39th minute. Jonatan Llorian kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Meng Zhan Xiang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Samuelsson was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Joaquin Firmin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Ourente having to make a save. When Esteban Luzea fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Requelme AFC's protests and gave Esteban Luzea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Requelme AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Esteban Luzea hit a great ball. In the 93rd match minute, Requelme AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Ostots to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Esteban Luzea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gamba Osaka F.C.'s Arne Samuelsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
