After some careless play in the Gamba Osaka F.C. defense, Niceto Oliviero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arne Samuelsson. The Gamba Osaka F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Samuelsson should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvaldo Panfilo was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Osvaldo Panfilo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arne Samuelsson. That made the score 0-2 in the 51 minute of play. The supporters of Gamba Osaka F.C. booed when Rodri F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quico Folch didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by František Frič in the 90th minute of play forced Rodri F.C's goalkeeper Florentino Quintyn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Gamba Osaka F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rodri F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
