In the 17th minute, Narciso Urtsua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonzo Lawrence was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 26thth minute of the game Narciso Urtsua who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympique de Marseille's Alonzo Lawrence was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Narciso Urtsua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alonzo Lawrence having to make a save. Fabio Ruisko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alonzo Lawrence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Ruisko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half El Campito were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe Gartzi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bernardo Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Qwinton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Narciso Urtsua could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Alonzo Lawrence made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique de Marseille's zone, Fabio Ruisko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonzo Lawrence came out of the goal and Fabio Ruisko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Javiar in the 69th minute of play. If Narciso Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olympique de Marseille's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Fabio Ruisko scored to the left of an out of position Alonzo Lawrence, making the score, 0-3. Alonzo Lawrence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Urtsua in the 82nd minute. If Fabio Ruisko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Narciso Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alonzo Lawrence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Fabio Ruisko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Lawrence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, El Campito's Fabio Ruisko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alonzo Lawrence made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 94 minutes, Antonio Naelio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Campito and the Olympique de Marseille players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to El Campito getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Antonio Naelio hit a great ball. When the match was over El Campito could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Olympique de Marseille throughout the match.
