With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Inge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christian Baldovino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Ekialde in the 25th minute of the match. Miguel Fix was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Cebollitas's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 34 minutes into the match, Colon de Santa Fe's goalkeeper Elpidio Inge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timoteo Birjaio. After having played for 38 minutes, Modesto Domeka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cebollitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modesto Domeka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Marciano Perfecto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cebollitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Marciano Perfecto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Inge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute, Marciano Perfecto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Modesto Domeka to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Marciano Perfecto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
