Spectators: 7055 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) 6 minutes into the game, Benjamin Heriberto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AKILES S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newells Old Boys the free kick. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when AKILES S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Heriberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Nikola in the 12th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Robustiano Sotero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newells Old Boys's Robustiano Sotero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Raitin in the 13th minute of play. In the 21st minute Nunez Feliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Sotero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 minutes, Leandro Poz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells Old Boys and the AKILES S.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, AKILES S.C.'s Nunez Feliu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robustiano Sotero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Robustiano Sotero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Feliu in the 39th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Barbosa. AKILES S.C.'s Lisandro Vincente managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eustaquio Orti in the 43 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Newells Old Boys defense, Nunez Feliu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robustiano Sotero. The Newells Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robustiano Sotero should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Delmiro Chayo made a kick off. Cornelio Bernad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delmiro Chayo's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Delmiro Chayo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of AKILES S.C.'s Cornelio Bernad. Cornelio Bernad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Chayo in the 61st minute of play forced AKILES S.C.'s goalkeeper Cornelio Bernad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artemio Martxel took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cornelio Bernad. Cornelio Bernad dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 70th minute of the match, Adrian Nikola tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robustiano Sotero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aurelio Raitin's late challenge caught a Newells Old Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelio Raitin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, AKILES S.C.'s Aurelio Raitin got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Robustiano Sotero made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Nunez Feliu sent off a good shot on target. Robustiano Sotero came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by AKILES S.C.'s Adrian Nikola. But to his dismay, Adrian Nikola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 85th minute Hermengildo Eleazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, Newells Old Boys's Delmiro Chayo made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cornelio Bernad was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95th minute, Juan Cutberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Newells Old Boys were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
