In the 13th minute Patricio Fortun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Benat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vladimiro Ederono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimiro Ederono in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nereo Fernandez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patricio Fortun got free with Ildefonso Benat in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ildefonso Benat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Ostadar in the 83rd minute of the match. Picapiedras F.C's Marcelo Mero got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Marcelo Mero off the ground. In the 85th minute, Marcelo Mero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Tatengue defense, Zeledon Vincente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nereo Fernandez. The Tatengue fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nereo Fernandez should have stopped the shot. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
