After the first half MILLONARIO were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 minutes, Júlio Ramirez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MILLONARIO and the RIVER FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celedonio Herena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Iago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MILLONARIO played a much better game than RIVER FC and deserved their victory. The RIVER FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
