The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Melquiades Ricart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Astudillo in the 12th minute of play. With a little luck, Cabituyo's Jacinto Freitas got control of the ball when Gaspar Curcio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariano Rosio hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Virgilio Rodas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Virgilio Rodas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cabituyo's Cipriano Pelayo in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hambre de Gol's goalie prevented a goal. Melquiades Ricart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Pelayo in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Rodas in the 39th minute of play forced Cabituyo's goalkeeper Jacinto Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cipriano Pelayo came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Cabituyo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Pelayo couldn't finish the play. Cabituyo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Virgilio Rodas scored to the left of an out of position Jacinto Freitas, making the score, 1-1. Melquiades Ricart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Pelayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Virgilio Rodas made the kick off in the second half. Silvio Frans hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Jacinto Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgilio Rodas in the 52nd minute of the match. Cipriano Pelayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hipolito Astudillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Ricart having to make a save. Melquiades Ricart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Pelayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isaac Honrio in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto Freitas saved Cabituyo from getting behind. In the 60th minute, Virgilio Rodas made a precise shot to the right of Jacinto Freitas. Cabituyo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Isaac Honrio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Hipolito Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cabituyo booed when Hambre de Gol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Cipriano Pelayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacinto Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Gorka in the 81st minute of play. Vicente Orlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jacinto Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Freitas came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Hambre de Gol's Virgilio Rodas. But to his dismay, Virgilio Rodas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Cipriano Pelayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Cipriano Pelayo took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Melquiades Ricart to make any attempt to save it. Cabituyo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
