They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Freddy Ekhi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 53 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cristian Lluc was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Anselmo Salvino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Gil was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Elvio Tonete capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elvio Tonete really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. CA Velez Sarsfield's Bernardo Berenguer pulled a muscle in his back after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Freddy Ekhi came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the CA Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Ekhi couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Elvio Tonete managed to get in a good position for a shot. Higuera FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elvio Tonete was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Gil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The CA Velez Sarsfield supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Higuera FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Higuera FC.
