Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angelino Eliu ran back to his position shaking his head. Segundo Fagildo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Angelino Eliu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edelmiro Poz was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Angelino Eliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind OFF's goalkeeper Edelmiro Poz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alejo Bakar came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabian Joanes could save by the left post. Edelmiro Poz came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos Juniors's João Adolfo Peixoto. But to his dismay, João Adolfo Peixoto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as OFF's Mauricio Abalos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabian Joanes. That made the score 1-1 after 27 minutes of play. Mauricio Abalos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabian Joanes came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauricio Abalos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 33rd minute. Edelmiro Poz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelino Eliu went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 40 minutes into the match, Angelino Eliu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edelmiro Poz. OFF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelino Eliu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After having played for 45 minutes, Angelino Eliu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angelino Eliu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelino Eliu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Edelmiro Poz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Argentinos Juniors were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelino Eliu was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Argentinos Juniors got a corner. OFF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Adolfo Peixoto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Segundo Fagildo struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Edelmiro Poz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentinos Juniors. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Angelino Eliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argentinos Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Angelino Eliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edelmiro Poz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 71 minutes, Mauricio Artizar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OFF and the Argentinos Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. With his leg Edelmiro Poz managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Argentinos Juniors's Angelino Eliu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edelmiro Poz made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Adolfo Peixoto in the 77th minute. After 80 minutes of play, OFF's Mauricio Artizar made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabian Joanes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edelmiro Poz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelino Eliu went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelino Eliu got free with Edelmiro Poz in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Angelino Eliu came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Argentinos Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Eliu couldn't finish the play. Angelino Eliu struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Edelmiro Poz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentinos Juniors. When the final whistle sounded Argentinos Juniors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than OFF.
