The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ruperto Iraunkor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Gomesano in the 9th minute of play. Artemio Olayo scored 0-2 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruperto Iraunkor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 16th match minute, Fuego Sagrado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Loiola to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Natalio Gomesano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruperto Iraunkor was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. River Plate's Duarte Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save River Plate from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Horaţiu Botea notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of River Plate's Duarte Arruda. Duarte Arruda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ruperto Iraunkor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Gomesano in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Fuego Sagrado's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Gomesano came free, but Ruperto Iraunkor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Natalio Gomesano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Iraunkor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Iraunkor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Gomesano in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Loiola came free, but Duarte Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duarte Arruda came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Fuego Sagrado's Baltasar Jokin. But to his dismay, Baltasar Jokin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Duarte Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Loiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Plate's Duarte Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Botea in the 44th minute of play. Leo Loiola received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Duarte Arruda came out and tried to block the shot, but Leo Loiola slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Duarte Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Loiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Federici in the 58th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Duarte Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Natalio Gomesano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Iraunkor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Natalio Gomesano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ruperto Iraunkor. That made the score 3-4 after 66 minutes of play. Duarte Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Loiola in the 71st minute of play. Duarte Arruda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Loiola went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-4 was the resulting score. Natalio Gomesano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruperto Iraunkor came out and tried to block the shot, but Natalio Gomesano slotted it home off the left post making it 4-5 in the 76th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Fuego Sagrado's Ettore Federici nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duarte Arruda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-5. In the 84th minute, River Plate's Godofredo Tab seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Godofredo Tab the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of River Plate protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Godofredo Tab had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 83rd minute, one of River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for River Plate. In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Fuego Sagrado. Angel Miliano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Arruda. 6-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Federici in the 96th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Duarte Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duarte Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Maiorga in the 97th minute of play. Duarte Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Jokin in the 99th minute of the match. Duarte Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ettore Federici, who was totally free with the ball in the 101st minute. River Plate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
