Hipolito Eguen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a little luck, Solís's Luis Nevada got control of the ball when Hipolito Eguen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agustin Francis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Luis Nevada when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sixto Pirmin to make the kick off. Agustin Francis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Nevada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Hipolito Eguen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliano Quinteros hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 82nd match minute, Solís was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Ganix to maneuver through the defense. Hipolito Eguen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Candelaria's Agustin Francis got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustin Francis in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luis Nevada saved Solís from getting behind. Agustin Francis might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luis Nevada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustin Francis ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Candelaria players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
