Claudio Gutxi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Frascuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Moises Beat had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio Gutxi. VIOLETA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Beat was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Beat in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Gutxi saved VIOLETA from getting behind. A collision led to Mazán getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Baldomero Lucila hit a great ball. Delmar Belasko's late challenge caught a VIOLETA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmar Belasko helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Mazán got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Belasko. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Beat stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. VIOLETA's Claudio Gutxi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Gutxi in the 53rd minute of play. Claudio Gutxi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Beat's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Sergio Frascuelo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mazán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Frascuelo couldn't finish the play. Claudio Gutxi came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Mazán's Moises Beat. But to his dismay, Moises Beat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Mazán's Fidel Refugio got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inocencio Distiratsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Chepe having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Lucas Marko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute Felix Abalos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Chepe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Jonatan Berbiz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VIOLETA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Claudio Gutxi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Beat's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The Mazán supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mazán would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
