When Romero's Cecilio Bladi in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Canallas Del Oeste's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Romero's Saul Henry got a free kick in the 5th minute. Romero's Cleto Lluques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Romero from getting a goal against them. In the 10th minute Fernando Nikola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipolito Theobald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12thth minute of the game Cecilio Bladi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canallas Del Oeste's Hipolito Theobald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hipolito Theobald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Martino in the 16th minute of play. If Angelino Ihintza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Ticho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Canallas Del Oeste's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hipolito Theobald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Bladi in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benigno Martino in the 27th minute of play forced Canallas Del Oeste's goalkeeper Hipolito Theobald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipolito Theobald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Nikola in the 28th minute of the match. Isaac Ticho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cleto Lluques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cecilio Bladi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 46th minute, Isaac Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cecilio Bladi to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cecilio Bladi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cleto Lluques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelino Ihintza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canallas Del Oeste's Angelino Ihintza got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Angelino Ihintza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 69 minutes on the clock, Leonides Manilan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Canallas Del Oeste:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Romero:s goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Nikola got free with Hipolito Theobald in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Isaac Ticho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cleto Lluques having to make a save. If Fernando Nikola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Blai's late challenge caught a Canallas Del Oeste's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolando Blai helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 84 minutes, Aldo Zaccardi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canallas Del Oeste's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Zaccardi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cecilio Bladi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hipolito Theobald came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Romero's Fernando Nikola. But to his dismay, Fernando Nikola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Chants of Romero echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Canallas Del Oeste had held the ball for most of the match.
