When Zachariasz Pochorylo fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Boca Junior's protests and gave Zachariasz Pochorylo a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xie Lin Si in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adan Tipi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xie Lin Si took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adan Tipi. Adan Tipi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Desiderio Malvin to make the kick off. The supporters of Copacabana AFC booed when Club Atlético Boca Junior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Fonda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The tension between the Copacabana AFC and the Club Atlético Boca Junior players grew even worse after the yellow card.
