When Ariel Elia fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capivara's protests and gave Ariel Elia a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Capivara's Ariel Elia got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Capivara's Ruperto Erasto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Capivara from getting a goal against them. Christiano de Mendonça came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Capivara's Salvador Turi. But to his dismay, Salvador Turi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Christiano de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Rik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Vladimiro Rik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, C.A.River Plate's Isidro Sarracino got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute, Mario Asier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Zacarias Abeita from long distance, 32 minutes into the match, got Ruperto Erasto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Aurelio Inguma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Erasto having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Atilano Lauro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With 52 minutes on the clock, Adriana Sancho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for C.A.River Plate! The goalkeeper, Christiano de Mendonça, was totally fooled by Capivara's Jairo Oskarbi, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 58th minute of the match, Vladimiro Rik got a very nice opportunity to score, but Christiano de Mendonça was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vladimiro Rik took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christiano de Mendonça. Christiano de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 67th minute, Aurelio Inguma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sotos Kalimeris scored 1-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruperto Erasto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Capivara's zone, Sotos Kalimeris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Erasto came out of the goal and Sotos Kalimeris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. C.A.River Plate's Christiano de Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save C.A.River Plate from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd match minute, C.A.River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sotos Kalimeris to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th match minute, Capivara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Sanson to maneuver through the defense. Sotos Kalimeris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Erasto having to interfere. After 92 played minutes C.A.River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Dantae. The crowd rose to their feet as Cesar Chano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christiano de Mendonça. That made the score 1-4 in the 94 minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Capivara eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
