Rigoberto Blasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 33 minutes into the match, Castellanos's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Ignatius came free, but Rigoberto Blasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Erasmo Bingen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cavanagh FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castellanos the free kick. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niceto Ignatius made a kick off. Niceto Ignatius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Rigoberto Blasco made a huge save. Valentin Maria's late challenge caught a Castellanos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentin Maria helped the player get up and apologised. Valentin Maria hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 57 played minutes Castellanos got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiro Idacio. The supporters of Cavanagh FC booed when Castellanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Idacio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Aurelio Telmo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rigoberto Blasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After some careless play in the Castellanos defense, Valentin Maria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rigoberto Blasco. The Castellanos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rigoberto Blasco should have stopped the shot. If Valentin Maria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 72 minutes in the game, Valentin Maria fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rigoberto Blasco having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Telmo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rigoberto Blasco was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Castellanos's Rigoberto Blasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Castellanos from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Castellanos's goalkeeper Rigoberto Blasco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valentin Maria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Rigoberto Blasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Cavanagh FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Castellanos.
