The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Abelardo Rocio came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Universitarios Tucuman fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Rocio couldn't finish the play. After 13 played minutes Universitarios Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Bermudo. Herminio Gilesindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Raulo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When Esteve Gau fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universitarios Tucuman's protests and gave Esteve Gau a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Universitarios Tucuman getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Esteve Gau hit a great ball. If Ivan Francis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ubaldo Manuelo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herminio Gilesindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Raulo in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abelardo Rocio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Ivan Francis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Francis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Universitarios Tucuman fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Universitarios Tucuman's Abelardo Rocio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Universitarios Tucuman's Abelardo Rocio in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS's Severo Honrio got a free kick in the 70th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Rocio in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Sugoi saved LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS from getting behind. Herminio Gilesindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Francis in the 81st minute of the match. After 87 played minutes LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS got a freekick which was hit by Severo Honrio. When Universitarios Tucuman's Abelardo Rocio in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Severo Honrio managed to get in a good position for a shot. LoS PyBeS De LoS FeRyS's supporters rose to their feet, but Severo Honrio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herminio Gilesindo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abelardo Rocio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ubaldo Manuelo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Leopoldo Sugoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Sugoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Rocio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Universitarios Tucuman players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
