Colón FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Igon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Colón FC's zone, Ernesto Barea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Xabel came out of the goal and Ernesto Barea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Emmanuel in the 37th minute of play forced Colón FC's goalkeeper Romulo Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Barea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Romulo Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Rodolfo Pirmin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltasar Claus got free with Eriberto Paulin in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colón FC's goalkeeper Romulo Xabel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernesto Barea charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Barea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ernesto Barea hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Eriberto Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Argenis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Martino in the 55th minute of play forced Cabalonga's goalkeeper Eriberto Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Pirmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Romulo Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Colón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Phelipe to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Cabalonga's Aristides Emmanuel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romulo Xabel. That made the score 0-3 after 69 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Rodrigo Artaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabalonga's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrigo Artaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romulo Xabel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aristides Emmanuel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Cabalonga's Rodrigo Artaldo made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Xabel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aristides Emmanuel in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Romulo Xabel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eriberto Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iker Magdaleno in the 90th minute of play. Vladimiro Txordon hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Romulo Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Emmanuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Cabalonga played a much better game than Colón FC and deserved their victory. The Colón FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
