After a rather tough play, Guaviraví AFC's Cipriano Oroitz got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Jeronimo Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Artemio Argenis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oscar Ciano. Guaviraví AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artemio Argenis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th minute, Daniel Baladi made a precise shot to the right of Romulo Xabel. Colón FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Oscar Ciano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeronimo Martino's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. The supporters of Colón FC booed when Guaviraví AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Oroitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Emiliano Bartuelo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Ciano skillfully saved the ball. Artemio Argenis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Artemio Argenis made a precise shot to the right of Oscar Ciano. Guaviraví AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 37th match minute, Colón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltasar Claus to maneuver through the defense. Jeronimo Martino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Oscar Ciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Martino in the 47th minute of play forced Guaviraví AFC's goalkeeper Oscar Ciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Guaviraví AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Colón FC were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Artemio Argenis to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Colón FC's zone, Daniel Baladi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Xabel came out of the goal and Daniel Baladi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the match, Guaviraví AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Argenis came free, but Oscar Ciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jeronimo Martino came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Colón FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeronimo Martino couldn't finish the play. Daniel Baladi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Romulo Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colón FC's Jeronimo Martino got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the game, Artemio Argenis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oscar Ciano. Artemio Argenis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 75th minute, Daniel Baladi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guaviraví AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Ignacio Merexildo charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignacio Merexildo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79thth minute of the game Artemio Argenis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guaviraví AFC's Oscar Ciano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 85 minutes of play, Colón FC's Jeronimo Martino made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Ciano was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeronimo Martino got free with Oscar Ciano in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Colón FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colón FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
