Maximino Inko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romulo Xabel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Romulo Xabel was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Maximino Inko capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maximino Inko really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Romulo Xabel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Maximino Inko might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romulo Xabel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximino Inko ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Flavio Faro sped through Colón FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Romulo Xabel. Romulo Xabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Markus Andersson in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Colón FC's Vladimiro Txordon got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 43 played minutes Colón FC got a freekick which was hit by Artemio Argenis. Romulo Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Faro, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artemio Argenis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romulo Xabel came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Crispi's Maximino Inko. But to his dismay, Maximino Inko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The supporters of Crispi booed when Colón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Rius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romulo Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Faro, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Flavio Faro struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Romulo Xabel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crispi. In the 64th minute Flavio Faro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Xabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeronimo Martino charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeronimo Martino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Colón FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeronimo Martino. Maximino Inko scored 4-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romulo Xabel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavio Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Xabel having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Flavio Faro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romulo Xabel was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 87th minute Flavio Faro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Xabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Crispi's Albert Gustavsson got control of the ball when Jeronimo Martino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Crispi walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
