In the 8th match minute, Club Villa Dalmine was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Eron to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Club Villa Dalmine's goalkeeper Florentino Ostadar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carolo Matteo. Florentino Ostadar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carolo Matteo in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Jimeno Raymond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Club Villa Dalmine's goalkeeper Florentino Ostadar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Huly. If Carolo Matteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Plate's Carolo Matteo got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florentino Ostadar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carolo Matteo in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Txomin in the 34th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Marco Rios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Rios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Club Villa Dalmine's zone, Roque Che stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Ostadar came out of the goal and Roque Che tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the game, Willie Whitley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Florentino Ostadar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Florentino Ostadar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roque Che in the 48th minute of the match.

If Carolo Matteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carolo Matteo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Florentino Ostadar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Carolo Matteo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Club Villa Dalmine's Florentino Ostadar. Florentino Ostadar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 68th minute, Jimeno Paublo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florentino Ostadar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willie Whitley in the 70th minute of the match. Florentino Ostadar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roque Che, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. If Carolo Matteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Club Villa Dalmine defense, Carolo Matteo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florentino Ostadar. The Club Villa Dalmine fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florentino Ostadar should have stopped the shot. River Plate's Carolo Matteo got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jimeno Paublo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Florentino Ostadar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florentino Ostadar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carolo Matteo's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Marco Rios made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conrado Txomin in the 91st minute. Willie Whitley hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the River Plate players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
