Spectators: 7174 (Terracing: 5382, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 142) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Natalio Ostots started the match with the kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Leonel Maurino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guasayán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Maurino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lázaro Joachim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Intxixu having to interfere. Modesto Intxixu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauro Cordera's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Mauro Cordera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Guasayán getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Modesto Godoy hit a great ball. If Osvaldo Rencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modesto Intxixu came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Guasayán's Mauro Cordera. But to his dismay, Mauro Cordera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Mauro Cordera came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Guasayán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Cordera couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, BANFIELD DEL SUR's goal looked a bit too open when Lázaro Joachim came free, but Modesto Intxixu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 minutes, Ulises Jon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guasayán and the BANFIELD DEL SUR players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Ulises Jon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natalio Ostots in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saturnino Castel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Ostots in the 44th minute of play forced Guasayán's goalkeeper Saturnino Castel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Rencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Intxixu having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauro Cordera to make the kick off. Lázaro Joachim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Modesto Intxixu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Cordera in the 77th minute of play forced BANFIELD DEL SUR's goalkeeper Modesto Intxixu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lázaro Joachim came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Guasayán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lázaro Joachim couldn't finish the play. Leonel Maurino struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Modesto Intxixu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guasayán. In the 85th match minute, Guasayán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Rencio to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Guasayán's Mauro Cordera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Modesto Intxixu. That made the score 0-2 after 89 minutes of play. Mauro Cordera might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Modesto Intxixu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Cordera ran back to his position shaking his head. Guasayán's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
