Jose Atarratze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Raphael, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. With his leg Jose Atarratze managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when RODOVELEZ's Silverio Eladio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 29 minutes into the match, Hucal's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Raphael came free, but Jose Atarratze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of RODOVELEZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hucal:s goal. If Tomas Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Pabla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Bladi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Quintan having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oscar Raphael made a kick off. Javier Bladi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roberto Quintan came out and tried to block the shot, but Javier Bladi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 53rd minute. In the 61st match minute, Hucal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Iraido to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes RODOVELEZ got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Ruisko. The supporters of RODOVELEZ booed when Hucal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximo Domeka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match Aristides Ruisko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jose Atarratze showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Filiberto Pabla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hucal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Pabla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 88 played minutes Hucal got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Perfecto. Hucal's Jose Atarratze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Abeita in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Hucal were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant RODOVELEZ side.
