Matará FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Mikelar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by 王博竞 in the 17th minute of play forced Matará FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Martxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidensio Lambaria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ricardo Martxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, 王博竞 notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Matará FC's Ricardo Martxot. Ricardo Martxot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ricardo Martxot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Matará FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rio Cuarto FC were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roman Herensuge to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Roman Herensuge ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fidel Sanson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 56th minute, Diego Ritchie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute of the match Teofilo Mikelar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fidel Sanson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Rio Cuarto FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Diego Ritchie hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Matará FC's Cesar Lucila got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 71 minutes, Haroldo Admon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Cuarto FC and the Matará FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Rio Cuarto FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Matará FC:s goal. 76 minutes into the match, Rio Cuarto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Herensuge came free, but Fidel Sanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Sanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Mikelar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rio Cuarto FC booed when Matará FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Quirce didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Rio Cuarto FC's 王博竞 ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Martxot. Ricardo Martxot yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Fidel Sanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Herensuge in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Teofilo Mikelar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matará FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Eustacio Jon kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Teofilo Mikelar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fidel Sanson. Rio Cuarto FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
