Spectators: 6982 (Terracing: 5343, Seating: 1638, VIP seats: 1) Paulino Jaume started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes, Celestino Erasto made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cambaceres's Zacarias Mino tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulino Jaume scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Felipo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Playo came free, but Aurelio Felipo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Jaume in the 19th minute of play forced RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Aurelio Felipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVER PLATE's Jorge Leguizamón got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarias Mino made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Celestino Erasto sent off a good shot on target. Zacarias Mino came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER PLATE's Conrado Pabla. But to his dismay, Conrado Pabla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cambaceres's zone, Jorge Leguizamón stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zacarias Mino came out of the goal and Jorge Leguizamón tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximo Uzuri hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Zacarias Mino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Leguizamón in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Cambaceres's goalkeeper Zacarias Mino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celestino Erasto. Flavio Pueblo hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jorge Leguizamón managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER PLATE's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Leguizamón was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zacarias Mino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celestino Erasto was the one to do the kick off. Conrado Pabla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestino Erasto in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zacarias Mino saved Cambaceres from getting behind. When Jorge Leguizamón came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the RIVER PLATE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Leguizamón couldn't finish the play. Zacarias Mino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Erasto, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ladislao Playo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Aurelio Felipo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Celestino Erasto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute Jorge Leguizamón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Mino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Leguizamón in the 78th minute of play forced Cambaceres's goalkeeper Zacarias Mino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cambaceres's zone, Jorge Leguizamón stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zacarias Mino came out of the goal and Jorge Leguizamón tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. RIVER PLATE's Celestino Erasto pulled a muscle in his leg after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Constantino Ruy fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cambaceres's protests and gave Constantino Ruy a yellow card for diving instead. Aurelio Felipo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Jaume in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Constantino Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrado Pabla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Zacarias Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 98 minutes into the match, Ladislao Playo notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of RIVER PLATE's Aurelio Felipo. Aurelio Felipo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cambaceres's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
