After a defensive mix-up in Recoleccion's zone, Erubiel Mazuste stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aristides Leguizamón came out of the goal and Erubiel Mazuste tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute of the match, Hermengildo Innocenzio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sakis Zafiriou saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aristides Leguizamón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Silviano in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Placido Silvanito in the 13th minute of play forced Recoleccion's goalkeeper Aristides Leguizamón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Placido Silvanito notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Recoleccion's Aristides Leguizamón. Aristides Leguizamón was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Erubiel Mazuste managed to get in a good position for a shot. V.GARIBALDI's supporters rose to their feet, but Erubiel Mazuste was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aristides Leguizamón breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Recoleccion's Erasmo Lopez got a free kick in the 41st minute. After the first half V.GARIBALDI were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermengildo Innocenzio made a kick off. Roberto Fliz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aristides Leguizamón having to make a save. In the 52nd minute, Rodolfo Katia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Placido Silvanito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aristides Leguizamón having to make a save. Recoleccion's Aristides Leguizamón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erubiel Mazuste in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, V.GARIBALDI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Bela to maneuver through the defense. Aristides Leguizamón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Katia in the 63rd minute of play. Sakis Zafiriou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Tavio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaspar Tavio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakis Zafiriou having to interfere. When the match was over V.GARIBALDI could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Recoleccion throughout the match.
